Jennifer Aniston won her first solo SAG Award for Apple's "The Morning Show," claiming Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.
The "Friends" star thanked Reese Witherspoon during her acceptance speech but saved a tribute to her longtime friend Adam Sandler until the very end.
"Adam Sandler, your performance was extraordinary and your magic is real buddy, I love you," Aniston said.
Sandler has been hailed for his performance as Howard Ratner in "Uncut Gems," which follows "a New York City jeweller on the lookout for the next big score makes a series of high-stakes bets that could lead to the windfall of a lifetime."
Sandler was tipped for an Oscar nomination but, despite a considerable campaign, missed out on a nod. Aniston knows what that feels like, since she herself is a former Oscar-snubee, too.
In 2014, Aniston earned nominations at the Golden Globes, SAG Awards and Critics' Choice Awards for her lead role in "Cake"— three major Oscar precursors — but ultimately failed to garner that sought-after Oscar nomination. She deemed herself the "number one snubee"— a title she now shares with Sandler.
The two have been friends since before Aniston starred in "Friends" and have remained close ever since, starring in 2011's "Just Go With It" and Netflix's 2019 comedy "Murder Mystery."
This was Aniston's first solo SAG Award after 10 previous nominations — mostly for Best Ensemble for "Friends." She won that award with her "Friends" cast once, in 1996.
